Everyday, in every transaction, your customers are talking to you. They first are telling you what they want to buy, when they like to buy it, where they like to buy it from, and how much they want. It used to be all businesses would be able to know about their consumers.

But now with the advent of technology we can understand other things like:

  • Who visits your site
  • Where they go
  • What they look at
  • How long they do look at something
  • and much more

Think about social media for a second, unless you click on ads, you are not performing any transaction with those sites, right? Well you may not be exchanging your dollars for their service but you are defiantly engaged in business with them, and you are telling them a lot. Just based on what you talk about, click on, engage with, and belong to. This is all data and information they can turn around and market.

Learning from an Escape Room 🧩

Recently I learned this lesson well when working with the Waxhaw Escape Room.

Because of their booking software we were able to understand 70% of their customers booked games only 3 days ahead of time; 67% of those booked only hours before.

If you knew this about your company and customers, how would it effect how you marketed to them knowing they don't book too far in advance?
