Say goodbye to the Golden Rule 👋

Have you felt a change recently?

Everything seems much more intimate in the world.

With working from home becoming the norm & technology so advanced, we literally invite people into our home. 🏡

Everyone's feelings are at the surface. 💓

People are sharing how they feel more than ever before, for better or worse.

What's more interesting is they are sharing it open spaces.

This is a leading indicator, Reader.

It means people want personalization, they want to feel recognized, noticed, seen.

No longer can we treat others they way we like to be treated.
That's the old rule. 🟡

Now we need to follow the platinum rule. 💯
"Treat others the way they want to be treated."

How

Everyday people are talking to you and your business.

Telling you what they like and don't like.

The same way they talk to social media, through likes/views/comments/clicks: It's all through data.

All you have to do is listen to them. 👂

Here's 1 tool (of many) to help you translate what people are telling you into hyper-specific personalization.

All you need is 3 pieces of data:

  1. Who🤷
  2. When 🕰️
  3. What 🤲

Who= The person or noun. Give them a specific identifier so each time you interact, you can track them.
When= The specific time of the interaction
What= What was the traction about. Give this interaction a number if you can as well.

Using this, you can score each person/noun from a 1-3 on how they interact with you.

A. How recent were they compared to the others?
B. How frequently are they interacting with you compared to others?
C. How much money are they giving you, as a sign of appreciation, relative to others?

Now, you have them organized in the 3 categories:
Recency, Frequency, Monetary-Value

And a score that looks something like this:

Serve Them

Working with my friend Jared who is in digital marketer, we came up with specific ways to serve each person.

Uniquely.

Specifically.

The way they want to be served.

It's everywhere. All around us. And it's only growing. But really, what is data Reader? What is Data? Here's how I define it: If it's tracked and recorded over time, it's data. Sure it's a broad stroke, but data can be anything. Have questions about data? Let's chat. Data can be created by people via: transactions, website traffic, phone calls, clicks, likes, widgets made, miles driven, words, dance moves executed, and more!
